  Question about baptism questions and readiness

  it's been a loooong time since i went through them.

  now i find my son of an age where he will if not already is being subtly led to 'dedication and baptism' to the organization.

  (esp in the jan 15 2010 wt).

  without you, the small world of ex jws would be a darker place.. you post new findings, inside information, extensive research, found documents, provide commentaries, translations, deep theology, differing beliefs, questions, answers, humour, tragedy, your own life experiences and encouragement.. some of you have already become familiar to me, and i look forward to the things you say.

  i look forward to yet meeting other caring selfless people.. 3 weeks ago i was still a wt apologist.

  nope. She is 3rd generation follower. we split 10 years ago and she has not wanted to share the kids. I have always maintained regular contact on a very controled (by her) manner. Its just that now, she is trying to have them see me less. This time i didnt back down.

  she told me to get a lawyer and then acted all surprised when i did!

  so, its lawyer to lawyer, then mediation and if she does not do what is the kids rights re access its off to court too. I have a battle because she lies and manipulates. Even creates situations that she can then turn to her use legally. i guess i best not say to much as its an ongoing legal issue, but i will let people know the outcome!

  Yes, my brother ans i are ding well, closer than ever before.

  3 weeks ago i was still a WT apologist. The things i have learnt, not gossip or stories but real backed up facts really opened my mind.

  I have not read a watchtower in 10 years. Now when i do look at them, i read them completely differently. With real questions, with an understanding of what is really going on. The ability to read between the lines as it were.

  When preparing for baptism:

  are they warned of the severity of disfellowshipping?

  How it would affect their relationship with a disfellowshipped parent?

  That they too could face it for seeing that parent?

  And the impact that would have then on the relationship with the parent still a JW?

  (John 8:34; Heb. 3:13) s0 even though

  unbeliever may promise freedom when

  they promote a way of life that is at odds

  with Jehovah's teaching, any who listen to

  them will quickly find themselves enslaved

  to a sinful and degrading lifestyle.-Rom. 1:

  24-32.

  What really annoys me with this part, is that next year my 16 year old son will be listening this drivel. The WT will have him believe that if he steps outside the door, he will trip over hordes of snarling degraded sodomites all thirsting to turn him to 'sin'.

  In all the 10 years, i have not seen anyone living a sinful degrading life unless i went in search of such. They would have him believe that my life is full of sin and degradation. I'm married, don't cheat, pay my taxes, don't lie, obey the law, don't do drugs or get drunk.

  I must get him to think on this one somehow.

  But i am pissed of with the WT for the blanket assumptions they make. but then, i guess thats to be expected from religion of followers of followers of followers of followers.
